Makini has also performed and shared the stage with national recording artists Winton Marcellas and Roy Ayers. She has opened up for Maya Angelou and national recording artist Lenny Williams. Makini’s love for different styles of music is apparent. Makini has performed for radio, television and live theater. Currently, Makini is the vocalist for "Lunch Money", a swing band with "Big Band" sound, and th vocalist for the band "Soul Food" Her engaging smooth delivery is reminiscent of a time when Jazz was King.
