CHIP PARKER | March 7, 2020 | 6p -9p
Chip Parker has performed for capacity audiences in the Hotel Sorrento, Tula’s, Egan’s Ballard Jam House, Vashon Allied Arts Jazz Series, Osteria La Spiga, North City Bistro, and Wilf’s in Portland. His style reflects what he’s absorbed over the years from singers such as Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Billie Holliday, and Chet Baker.
Jazz guitarist Ron Peters develops a high level of intimacy and creativity in his playing, with unrestrained imagination. He is an alumnus of the world-renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, and has worked with such greats as The Manhattan Transfer, Chevy Chase, Debby Boone, The Don Ellis Orchestra, as well as the internationally acclaimed local gypsy jazz group Pearl Django.
Rounding out the trio is bassist Geoff Cooke, a multiple-award-winner who has played gigs with Edmonia Jarrett, Ernestine Anderson, David “Fathead” Newman, Freddy Cole, Steve Turre and is considered “one of the best bass players in Seattle, possibly the country, able to jam with any band, any singer.”
