New Age Flamenco personifies eclecticism by absorbing their influences and combining them to create a new, personal sound of their own. Their music reflects a strong Latin connection, Mediterranean folk, European roots, jazz, and a Gypsy soul blended with the infectious rhythms of modern music. Flamenco performs original compositions as well as popular tunes by songs you know and love; Gipsy Kings, Carlos Santana, The Rosenberg Trio and many more.
THE FIGGINS & HALBERT JAZZ GROUP will take any great song from the last 100 years, and transport you to a timeless era when ‘cool’ wasn’t contrived, and crooning was edgy. Danny Figgins, a UW School of Music grad who has performed world-wide and recorded for over twenty years, commands the group with his super-soulful vocals and lyrical piano work. Joshua Halbert, bass violinist, graduated from The Cornish School of Music has mastered his instrument, and studied and performed with many jazz greats.
You may not know her name yet, but we’re betting that won’t be the case for long. This young Tacoma-raised singer has the sort of powerful pipes that tend to stun chatty bar bar crowds into silence. Sundae + Mr. Goessl is a new collaboration between resident Seattle, WA musicians Jason Goessl and Kate Voss. The duo embodies a spirit reminiscent of 1930s pop; repackaging classics with nuanced stylistic detours, ultimately imparting a ‘fresh’ vintage patina to the songs. Voss’s sultry and honey imbued vocals mixed with Goessl’s impossibly layered guitar work comfortably ebbs and flows while transcending the definition of ‘pop’.
