Fireside Room

A Familiar Gathering Place

It’s the neighborhood hub. (But more like a living room.) A place to meet for drinks or traditional afternoon tea. It’s the setting for our Fireside Chats and music events. With rich architectural detailings – Honduran mahogany woodwork, leather wingback chairs and priceless green Rockwood tile hearth – the Fireside Room is a longtime favorite of artists and intellectuals. In fact, Seattle Metropolitan Magazine lists the Fireside Room as one of 30 dining experiences every Seattle-ite must have, including cocktails by the fire.

A Cultural Haven

Our ever-changing program of music, arts, literary and social events make the Fireside Room at the Sorrento Hotel a center of activity in our neighborhood and the heart of Seattle’s unique culture and indie-spirit. Check out our Sorrento Social Calendar to learn more.

Historic Haute Toddies Fireside

Fall is a great time stir up a new libation to warm the soul in the season ahead. The historic Sorrento Hotel in downtown Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood offers just the concoction with its Haute Toddy, served in its iconic Fireside Room once host to the Vanderbilts and Guggenheims upon opening 105 years ago. It still welcomes authors, musicians, artists and historians as part of its cultural series, Sorrento Nights.  Create the feeling at home with the following recipe:

Sorrento Hotel’s Haute Toddy

  • 1.75 oz. B&B (Brandy and Benedictine)
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 squeeze lemon
  • Top with Hot water
  • Garnish with cinnamon stick and lemon twist.
